Adel Jerges Al Chabab
Director General of the Lebanese Ministry of Industry
Born on January 2, 1977, he is Lebanese and originally from Maghdoucheh, Sidon District. He is married. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from the Lebanese University (1998) and the Lebanese Baccalaureate in Mathematics (1994).
He completed several advanced administrative training programs at the National Institute of Administration and Development, including training for the Third Category and promotion to the Second Category. He also specialized in strategic planning through a European Union program and is a certified trainer in communication and administrative correspondence.
He has extensive administrative experience in the public sector, having held several leadership positions at the Ministry of Social Affairs, including Head of the Directorate of Administrative Affairs, Expert in the Planning and Research Department, and Head of the Statistics and Information Technology Division. He also coordinated the National Program for Supporting the Poorest Families in cooperation with the World Bank and served as Coordinator of the Central Team responsible for preparing the Ministry of Social Affairs’ Vision and Plan (2025).
He contributed to the development of several key national strategies, including the Community Security and Countering Violent Extremism Strategy. He also designed and implemented social protection and economic empowerment programs in cooperation with the World Bank, the World Food Programme, and United Nations agencies.
He has represented Lebanon in various forums of the League of Arab States, ESCWA, and several other international organizations.
